D2 Creative Wins Six Telly Awards | Back to top

F-18 3D Animation Captures Silver, Two Major Programs Receive Bronze

3/1/2006--The annual Telly Awards recognize outstanding local, regional and cable television commercials and programs plus video and film productions. This year, at the 27th annual awards, D2 Creative's work for Infineum, Berlex, T-Line TV and ITT were honored with Bronze and Silver awards.

D2 Creative captured both Silver and Bronze awards for Best Use of Animation. A highly realistic 3D animation of the F-18 fighter, created for ITT, won the Silver, and a Mechanism Of Action (MOA) animation for Beteferon, a multiple sclerosis medication from Schering/Berlex Labs, won the bronze. The F-18 animation, which also captured the Bronze for Best Use of Special Effects, is a heart-pounding, hyper-realistic thrill ride that illustrates the fighter jet evading a surface-to-air missile fired at it. The Schering/Berlex MOA animation is a trip inside the human body that demonstrates the physiology of MS and how the drug works.

For Infineum, a fuel- and oil additive joint venture of ExxonMobil and Shell, our winning entry was Trends 2005, an interactive CD spotlighting trends in the automobile, heavy duty diesel marine and other engine-related industries. The program, winner of a Bronze in the Non-Broadcast Automotive/Vehicles category, is presented live and distributed on CD to high-level executives around the world.

The other winning program was a multimedia CD-ROM production for Berlex, which captured the Bronze in the Non-Broadcast - Multimedia CD-ROM/DVD category. The program, called Inside Imaging, is a clinical, technical and business education program for representatives of freestanding diagnostic imaging centers.

D2 captured a Bronze Telly for Broadcast-Comedy for the production of the T-Line TV special Manhattan Comedy Night. The program, which featured several of New York's hottest comics, was shot in Hi-Definition video and edited in D2 Creative's Hi-Definition Avid editing suite.

The Telly Award judging panel is comprised of top advertising, production professionals as well as past Telly winners. D2 TEAM-Sim to Showcase Simulation For Ft. Monmouth AUSA Tech Day | Back to top

Thomasino to Address US Army Advocacy/Support Group

3/1/06 -- D2 Creative is set to host a special breakfast presentation at the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Tech Day at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. The presentation, to be held April 21, 2006 at Fort Monmouth's Gibbs Hall, will spotlight D2-TEAM-Sim's cutting-edge simulation-based training and education capabilities. The presentation is by invitation only.

D2 Creative VP Training & Simulation / Chief Software Architect Vincent Thomasino, a recognized subject matter expert, will address the group and demonstrate the latest trends in simulation. Thomasino is the chief developer of the technology on which D2 TEAM-Sim solutions are based. The software enables rapid, cost-effective development of trainer-programmable gaming solutions that can be incorporated into SCORM-conformant training solutions. D2 Creative, a business unit of Appliedinfo Partners, Inc., has licensed the software.

Thomasino says that his address will address real-world needs. "Simulation has long been part of training within the Armed Forces," he notes, "but it has generally been too costly, and has required too much development time, for many of the most common training needs. We've addressed those issues in revolutionary ways, and we've generated quite a lot of interest already."

AUSA is a private, non-profit educational organization that supports America's Army - Active, National Guard, Reserve, Civilians, Retirees and family members. AUSA provides numerous Professional Development Opportunities at a variety of local and national- events.

New D2 Group to Develop Revolutionary Simulation-Based Training Solutions  | Back to top

March 30, 2006 – D2 Creative has formed D2 TEAM-Sim (Training, Education And Management Simulation Solutions a new group to develop simulation-based training solutions, using a revolutionary new technology that enables development of advanced, trainer-programmable multi-user simulations in a fraction of the time, and at a fraction of the cost, of conventional simulations. The technology provides tools for the rapid construction of simulations and games.

According to John Lau, President of Appliedinfo Partners, Inc. (AIP), of which D2 Creative is a business unit, the addition of TEAM-Sim is the latest in a series of initiatives aimed at moving D2 Creative forward in the more advanced areas of training favored by the Armed Forces and other government agencies, and by corporate enterprises in a range of areas. "As a company that combines creative skills with significant technology expertise," Lau said, "we feel that simulation is a logical step for us. Simulation is growing rapidly in healthcare and technology training, both of which are core elements of our business. It has already generated a lot of interest among our existing clients and opened new doors for us as well."

Commenting on the addition of Thomasino to the D2 Creative team, Lau said, "We are very pleased that Vince has decided to join us. His talent and skill in developing advanced simulation is the perfect complement to the creative talent at D2 Creative and the technology resources of AIP, both in the U.S. and in China, and we look forward to very significant growth in this emerging area of training and education."
